Identity Verification Integration
For rentals that involve motorized vehicles, heavy equipment, serialized electronics — phones, tablets, game consoles, and cameras — or housing, Rent Vibe partners with DIDIT to verify the renter before the booking is confirmed. Renters are redirected to DIDIT's secure verification page, where they upload a government-issued photo ID (or a driver's license for vehicles) and take a quick biometric selfie; DIDIT confirms the document's authenticity and matches the face to the ID. Rent Vibe receives only the verification result — we never store the underlying ID documents or biometric data. Serialized items are also screened against stolen-property registries at listing time, so owners of high-theft electronics are protected from both stolen goods and unverified renters. The verification status is tracked on every booking, so owners can see at a glance whether a renter is cleared to take their item.

Damage Protection for Housing
For housing rentals, Rent Vibe partners with Truvi to offer guests an alternative to a traditional security deposit. At checkout, a guest can choose a $45 non-refundable damage waiver — administered through Truvi — in place of a $300 security-deposit hold. The waiver covers accidental damage to the property during the stay, giving owners peace of mind and guests a lower upfront cost. A portion of each waiver fee is remitted to Truvi to fund the protection, and the remainder is held in a Rent Vibe-managed damage-protection pool that pays out on approved claims. Owners who prefer the classic model can still require a refundable security-deposit hold instead.

Fraud Detection & Account Security
Behind every listing and booking, Rent Vibe runs an automated fraud-detection system that quietly monitors for abuse. We log security and activity events, assign each account a risk score based on signals like new-account activity velocity, repeated payment failures, repeated disputes, and the same device or IP address appearing across multiple accounts. Accounts flagged as high risk are surfaced to our administrators for review and may be suspended or terminated to protect the community. We never sell your activity data, and the data we collect is used solely to keep Rent Vibe safe — as described in our Privacy Policy.
